London Mahotsav 2026: More Than a Festival, A Homecoming

The third edition of London Mahotsav 2026, widely regarded as the UK’s largest Indian-Bengali cultural carnival, concluded on a spectacular note at the prestigious Sattavis Patidar Centre, Wembley, London, bringing together thousands of visitors, artists, entrepreneurs, authors, sportspersons and cultural enthusiasts from across the United Kingdom and beyond.

Organised by Candid Communication UK, the two-day cultural extravaganza on 27th and 28th June transformed Wembley into a vibrant celebration of Bengal’s art, music, literature, theatre, fashion, business, cuisine and heritage.

One of the festival’s biggest attractions was its stellar musical line-up featuring celebrated artistes including Shrabani Sen, Rupankar Bagchi, Poushali Banerjee, Soumitra Roy of Bhoomi, Sidhu of Cactus and Tathagata Sengupta, whose tribute to R.D. Burman received an overwhelming response from audiences.

The theatre segment emerged as another major highlight, with the much-anticipated presentation of Prothom Partha, marking the first-ever UK stage appearance together of renowned actors Kaushik Sen and Debshankar Haldar.

Adding a unique dimension to the festival was the grand finale of Matrimaa, a distinctive beauty pageant dedicated to mothers, curated by Tuhinaa Pandey. Contestants travelled from India to participate in the international showcase, making it one of the most talked-about segments of the event.

The festival was inaugurated by distinguished dignitaries including Cllr Amer Agha, Mayor of Brent; Virendra Sharma, Former Member of Parliament, UK; Sayantan Das Adhikari, Founder Director, Candid Communication India & UK and Nabamita Das Adhikari, Director, Candid Communication UK.

The festival successfully brought together artists, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, brands and community members under one roof, reinforcing its vision of connecting Bengal with the world.

Speaking on this occasion, Sayantan Das Adhikari, Founder-Director, Candid Communication India & UK, said, “Every year, London Mahotsav feels a little less like an event and a little more like a homecoming. Seeing thousands of people come together to celebrate the language, culture, music and memories we all cherish is incredibly moving.”
