Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT), a JIS Group Educational Initiative, hosted Pravesh Utsav 2026, its First Year Students’ Orientation Programme, at the Dhano Dhanyo Auditorium, Kolkata, welcoming the new batch of students and marking the beginning of their academic journey with inspiration, exposure and opportunities for holistic development.
A major highlight of the programme was the interaction between the distinguished guests and the newly admitted students. Drawing from their diverse professional journeys and experiences, the speakers shared valuable insights on perseverance, creativity, discipline, passion and the importance of pursuing one’s aspirations with dedication and commitment. Their interactions provided students with an opportunity to gain broader perspectives on personal growth, professional excellence and lifelong learning.
The programme was graced by an eminent gathering of personalities from the fields of cinema, music and education. The distinguished guests included Jeet, Indian actor, Film Producer and Television Presenter; Mr. Rupankar Bagchi, Playback Singer and Music Composer; Mr. Santanu Moitra, Music Director, Score Composer and Musician, who joined the programme virtually; Sardar Amrik Singh, Deputy Managing Director, JIS Group; Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group; Mr. Bidyut Majumder, Deputy Director, Business Development, JIS Group and Prof. (Dr.) Swarup Kumar Mitra, Principal, Guru Nanak Institute of Technology. The programme was also graced by the esteemed presence of Swami Sumanasananda Ji Maharaj, Ramkrishna Mission.
